2019 - 08 - 20 - The Important Of Optimizing Your Images For Elearning Projects

Today I wanted to share a reminder that just because you should shoot any needed images in as high a resolution as possible doesn't mean that you should make your learners download the images at that resolution. Images for use in elearning should be optimized. This means they should be resized to the largest they are going to be used for, you should keep a copy of the highest resolution you have, and if possible the images should be compressed by using a format such as jpg. While a PNG file can offer a transparent background and should be used when you need one a jpg file will be much smaller especially with a photograph. These simple changes can dramatically improve loading times for those on wireless or mobile which can reduce distraction and provide a more pleasant learning experience.
